Too mean? Thankfully I've not come across any in person, but I definitely know they exist (and have witnessed them on certain forums).
Part 4 of the Amecon poster. Sorry, I've been a bit behind lately through preparing for the convention but I'll have plenty of time to catch up when that's over.
Also, "Excuuuse me Princess" proved far too tempting.
I've always wanted to try cosplaying, but I just don't have the costume skills. And I'm pretty sure it would be considered blasphemy if I went to a convention with a generic Halloween costume. But for once, I'd love to stick it to the cosplay snobs. I saw a video where a complete cosplay whaco tried to get someone banned because she didn't like his costume. She was bugging security and everything, acting like a real bitch, and the guy with the "terrible" costume just stood there. Too bad I can't find that video
I'm not sure if that's a video I'd want to see. I'd probably be too torn between laughing my ass off and being filled with murderous rage.
But hey, everyone's got to start somewhere. My first costumes really were pretty bad (they're not that great now even though I'm slowly getting there), but it was all about having fun. Some people do costumes that aren't well made in the grand scheme of things, but the idea is funny and/or interesting enough that people forget about the skill involved.
Neither could I when I started, my first few were terrible! If you ever start cosplaying, just ignore the snobs. They're pretty few and far between as it is. At the end of the day, having fun is all that matters.

I thought the term was "free speech", not "worthless words".
